Dental veneers

… or how to get a perfect, natural-looking smile

Dental veneers are thin ceramic or resin coverings that are permanently bonded to the surface of the teeth to modify all aspects of their appearance. They look exactly like natural teeth, and the difference between veneers and natural teeth is invisible to the naked eye.

First things first

The dentist always performs a complete check-up of your mouth to make sure you don’t have other problems or contraindications to placing veneers.

Dental veneers at the CHD

Depending on the material used, veneers are extremely resistant to wear and breakage. They:

  • modify the colour of the tooth
  • close spaces or gaps between teeth
  • straighten crowded teeth without requiring orthodontics
  • change the shape of the teeth
  • cover stains, damaged enamel, cracks, or even fractures

The treatment follows a strict protocol established with your dentist. Remember, just like any cooking recipe, it’s important to follow all the steps and not rush things.

  • The first appointment is to understand your goals and expectations.
  • Then we’ll simulate what your veneers will look like in place.
Once you approve your final appearance, we’ll move on to the next step.
  • We then prep your teeth and apply temporary veneers.
  • Lastly, we apply your permanent ceramic veneers.

Depending on the situation, we may gently remove a thin layer of dental tissue to make room for the ceramic veneer.

Our veneers are made by master ceramists in Meyrin, Switzerland.

Recommendations

Once you get your permanent veneers, you’ll be able to proudly show off your pearly whites at the Montreux Jazz Festival! The session ends with personalized recommendations on caring for your dental veneers.

Your next appointment

The number of sessions varies according to the complexity of your situation and the number of tests needed to approve the final look. In most cases, you’ll need just 4 appointments.

Dental veneers accurately reproduce all the characteristics of a natural tooth and it becomes impossible to tell with the naked eye which one is a natural tooth, and which one is a veneer.
